As a proliferation of data is rapidly increased in human life, we talk about big data, small data, dirty data, clean data, all that is great, at the end of the day, it has to be about human life. 

Human life has to improve by use of data rest is secondary..

The focus has to be around three things. 

1. We improve a good attribute about human life.

2. We reduce a bad attribute about human life.

3. The transformation process of improving the good attribute and reducing the bad attribute has to be easy

Let's talk about all of these. Improving or good attribute and reducing a bad attribute means that

• We improve the revenue and reduce the costs

  And/or

• improve the quality of life and reduce the ailments

  And/or

• improve the customer satisfaction and reduce the number of complaints,

  And/or

• improve the organizational productivity, reduce the wastage within the organization,

  And/or

• make human life safer, improve the longevity, decrease the incidence of death ,

  And/or

• reduce the adverse effect of environmental calamities, in other words - minimize mitigate and migrate the risks in a better way.

….and so on

• By easy we need to look at

  • the instrumentation or are the tools that we are devising, they have to be easy to use and have a systematic integration within the entire workflow of data from creation to intelligent decision making process.

  • The second element on easy to use is institutionalization. The format of the data that helps us exchange the information within or outside the organization. The topic touches upon custodianship arrangement, who owns the data versus who's the custodian, What is the metadata? To understand the data we need to understand what the data tells us and data dictionary to go with it for example, if you go to the jungle see a lion, how do you know it's a lion and not a car? Well, we need to have established through prior information that what a lion is and what it looks like.

  • third thing in the ease of use is intelligence. You know the quality and quantity of the decisions we can make the should be intelligent with sole purpose of making human life better. Hence starting from this point and working backwards to what elements are needed to complete the picture should be a priority. .
